In this wall-based wire work, Walter Oltmann depicts a skink, an elusive African reptile, using delicate woven wire to evoke both its physical texture and symbolic resonance. Mounted in shallow relief, the work hovers between drawing and sculpture, casting shadows that enhance its ghostly, almost fossil-like appearance.
