Sara Reisman interviews Dor Gueze for BOMB Magazine.
"I first learned of Dor Guez’s artwork secondhand, through respected curators and friends talking about projects they had in mind for Guez, whose political identity transcends the historical lineages and cultural heritage of the Middle East. Rooted in archival research into the history of photography that contributed to the construct of the “Holy Land” as an imaginary, the Jerusalem-born artist’s practice questions individual and collective notions of representation, especially poignant in a time of such extreme polarization and politicization of identity. Our exchange dates back to 2019, when we first met during a studio visit in his Yafo apartment and studio, and continues into 2025 in tandem with his solo exhibition 'Unfolding Negatives' at Goodman Gallery in New York City."
