Laura Lima’s practice places time at the forefront, highlighting its significance through the lens of nature. Known for her exploration of Brazilian mythology and folklore, Lima's work embodies a materiality drawn from the natural world, with dyes sourced from plants and vegetables. Her first solo exhibition on the African continent, How To Eat The Sun and The Moon, is a study of the dialogue between nature and the journey of materials through time.
The exhibition, which invites visitors into a world of deep narratives, is defined by its large-scale textile works—each a masterful tapestry of colour, pattern, and narrative. Together with her dedicated team, Lima has intricately woven textiles infused with stories that delve deep into the heart of Brazilian culture.
