Cardboard, carpet and aluminum lamps
Variable Dimensions

Archivo (Archive) (2012) by Mateo López is an immersive installation composed of cardboard shelving, carpet, aluminum lamps, and a custom fragrance that evokes the scent of aging books. The work recreates the bureaucratic aesthetic of Colombian archival spaces, transforming emptiness into a sensory exploration of memory and obsolescence within a setting measuring 300 by 400 centimeters. Through this immersive archive, López interrogates the fragility of recollection and the spatial dimensions of forgetting, offering a poetic reflection on how we store and lose our histories.
