Variable Dimensions

Paul Maheke’s interdisciplinary practice blends installation, performance, video, sound, and drawing to explore themes of identity, memory, and the body’s presence within space. His work often engages with questions of visibility—particularly in relation to queer, Black, and marginalized identities, suggesting layered, poetic responses rather than fixed narratives. Instead of creating static images or objects, Maheke frequently constructs immersive environments where walls become stages and paintings act as backdrops for movement and sound.
