Lexus South Africa unveils artistic collaboration with Banele Khoza at Investec Cape Town Art Fair
02 Mar 2026

As the official automotive sponsor of ICTAF, Lexus South Africa is proud to present a bold artistic collaboration with acclaimed South African artist Banele Khoza. At the heart of this collaboration is the all-new electric Lexus RZ, transformed into a striking, one-of-a-kind artwork featuring Khoza’s piece, Most of Us Want Flowers Without the Rain. Khoza’s artwork explores themes of growth, beauty and the unseen forces required for transformation. Its presence on the Lexus RZ creates a powerful metaphor: every expression of beauty begins with energy. In this context, creative energy and electric energy converge.

With its refined silhouette and quiet, zero emission performance, the Lexus RZ becomes more than a vehicle, it becomes a moving canvas. The wrap reimagines mobility as an artistic medium, where engineering precision meets contemporary expression.

“Design has always been central to the Lexus philosophy. Our collaboration with Banele Khoza allows us to extend that philosophy beyond automotive engineering and into the cultural sphere. The Lexus RZ represents the future of electric mobility and through this collaboration, we celebrate the creative energy that drives progress, both on the road and in the world of art,” added Lorgat.

Banele Khoza describes the collaboration as an opportunity to bring contemporary African art into an unexpected and dynamic space. “Most of Us Want Flowers Without the Rain reflects on the tension between desire and process, the beauty we seek and the growth required to achieve it. Seeing the work translated onto the Lexus RZ introduces it to new audiences and contexts. It becomes mobile, visible and in conversation with innovation,” says Khoza.

Lexus’ presence at the Fair on 20-22 February 2026 demonstrates the brand’s commitment to meaningful cultural engagement. As part of this year’s partnership, Lexus will showcase its latest vehicle lineup, including its advanced hybrid and electrified models that illustrate the brand’s commitment to sustainable luxury. As guests arrive at the event, they will experience the refined calm of the Lexus chauffeur offering - an embodiment of the brand’s signature ‘omotenashi’ hospitality and attention to detail.
